Is it fine to drink four bottles of beer a day?
My stepdad is drinking four bottles of beer (Heineken) a day. He's about 160lb....and not sure if this is too much for him. Is this good for his body or ok?
I'm going to play devils advocate and say 'Just Right'. Your step dad is probably in the 35 to 50 year old range, so he may want to consider switching to red wine (for the heart benefits), a dark ale or stout like Guiness (for a higher iron content, good for his blood system) or Gin or Vodka and club soda drinks (to watch his calorie count).
Depending on the activity of his lifestyle (and 160 pounds tells me he's doing ok, unless he's 2 feet tall, but i'm betting he's in the average of 5 foot 10 inch area), but recent studies in Men's Health magazine have shown that 16 total oz's of beer after a high intensity workout restore the bodies functionality quicker then water alone or hydrating sports drinks.
If your afraid of consumption levels, that'd different, but from a strictly health stand point, I don't see too many issues other then enjoying life a little.
