The Westin Aruba (Palm Beach) - are there grocery stores within walking distance?
I'm staying at the Westin in Aruba on Palm Beach in Feb 2010. When I travel, I like to buy beer at the grocery store and then bring it to the beach each day in a cooler (I can't stand paying $7 for a corona at the beach bar). Are there grocery stores near by that have good prices? I don't plan on renting a car.
PS, any suggestions where to eat while I'm there? Thanks!
I stayed at the Radisson, which is 2 hotels down from the Westin. A worker at our hotel pointed us towards a small convenience store that was like 5-10 minutes away, so I'd say it's definitely walkable from the Westin. You can also get suggestions from someone once you're there.
I don't know your price points, but Madame Janette's was really good (you'll have to take a cab there), and Yemanja was amazing (that's downtown, you'll need a cab for that too).
If you're looking for something more reasonable, there are restaurants basically right across the street from your hotel. There's a steak house, pizza place, tapas, Italian ... basically, anything you can think of. There's even a Hooters. =p
